This training course will give its delegates a broader outlook into economic dispatch which is the process of determination of the output power generated by units to supply the specified load in a manner that will minimize the total cost of fuel.

Since one of the prominent optimization problem in power system planning is economic dispatch, this course will intricately look into economic dispatch formulation and problems and also give a comparison in addressing the problems between the liberalized market environment and the vertically integrated market.

The main objective of economic dispatch is scheduling the output of all existing generation units in the power system in such a way that the cost of fuel is minimized while obtaining systems constraints.
