Also known as Mji Mkongwe, Stone Town encloses the older side and is considered the main city of Zanzibar. Stone Town drew distinction due to its opulent historical and artistic contributions. The identity of its architecture was fondly influenced by several prominent upbringings of Arab, Persian, Indian and European decent. Hence, garnering a UNESCO World Heritage Site status. Due to its rich cultural foundation, Stone Town has become a major tourist attraction that strengthened a large fraction of its economy in congruent to the performance of its tourism.
